Transylvania Stud - Dead and Bloated

Transylvania Stud – Dead & Bloated (STP Cover) (Single Premiere)

Quick, here’s a fun little question: What non-Stoner Rock band, past or present, could have most easily transitioned into the Stoner Rock scene without any issues?

That was the question posed one day in The Fuzz Club group chat.

The unanimous answer?

Stone Temple Pilots, the Grunge-tinged Alt Rock band that released a string of fiery hot hits in the ‘90s, including “Interstate Love Song,” “Plush,” “Creep,” “Vasoline,” and many others.

It was enough to inspire Fuzz Club member Andrew Godfrey—better known as Transylvania Stud, a Heavy Rock solo project inspired by the soaring choruses of Soundgarden and growling guitars of Kyuss.

Godfrey picked up STP’s “Dead & Bloated,” the opening track on 1992’s Core, and got to work transforming it into Stoner Rock fun by slowing the pace and cranking up the fuzz.

Transylvania Stud’s version of “Dead & Bloated” features guitarist Eddy Keyes (Aiwass, The Endless, and Lords of the Opium Church) and was produced and mixed by George Pauley. Fun Fact: The single artwork was created by none other than Slightly Fuzzed.
